North Olmsted’s history began in 1815 with David Johnson Stearns of Vermont. He was followed by other pioneers from New England who established a settlement in the wilderness of southwestern Cuyahoga County. The book primarily deals with the period from 1815 to 1940. North Olmsted went from being an isolated farming community to a village in 1909 and a city in 1951. The history of North Olmsted is a story of people as the photographs in the book illustrate.
