2017 School House Groundbreaking

On Sunday, July 16th, we celebrated the Frostville Museum School House Groundbreaking.  We had numerous special guests to help us with our ceremony.  Nancy Desmond represented the Rocky River Reservation Metroparks, Nan Baker is the Cuyahoga County Council District 1 representative, Terry Groeden represented the North Olmsted School Board and Michael Zalar represented the North Olmsted City Schools.

Groundbreaking for the Frostville schoolhouse is the result of a dedicated committee that has been working for the past four years on the design, function, and drawings of the school.

At the heart of the committee's work is fundraising. Spaghetti dinner, chair painting, teas, Pumpkinville, raffles, collecting donations, and Buy-a-Brick have all played a part in making our schoolhouse a reality.

There is still much to be done, but we are so grateful to have come this far in providing a place for the children of our community to experience a part of life in the mid-eighteen hundreds.
